Construction
Responsible for the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects, from initial estimating and tendering through to final handover. This role requires strong technical knowledge, project coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across the project lifecycle.
Reports to: Head of Building Services
Division: Construction
Location: Head office, Bingley
Estimating
Assist in the preparation of mechanical estimates and tender submissions.
Review specifications, drawings, and client requirements to develop accurate costings.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
Project Planning & Mobilisation:
Support the development of project programmes, procurement schedules, and resource plans.
Coordinate early-stage design reviews and technical submittals.
Ensure all pre-construction documentation is in place.
Delivery:
Oversee the installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and public health services.
Manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to specification, on time and within budget.
Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
Technical & Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client specifications.
Review and approve technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
Resolve technical issues and provide engineering support throughout the project.
Commercial & Reporting:
Monitor project costs and variations in collaboration with the commercial team.
Prepare progress reports and attend project meetings with clients and consultants.
Support final commissioning, testing, and handover processes.
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or similar
Proven experience in mechanical project delivery within the construction or building services sector
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, drawings, and specifications.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in project management tools and MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of health & safety regulations and CDM requirements.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, heating, ventilation, and public health.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM coordination.
Familiarity with CIBSE, BSRIA, and other industry standards.
Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
Skilled in project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
Understanding of CDM regulations, health & safety legislation, and risk management.
Experience in commissioning, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary: £60,000 per annum
Car Allowance: £6,000 per annum
